Yes they are about the same. At the price Hexes are selling, I do not think anything will come close, CDT is the second choice, and everything else we talked about comes in after for price/performance ratio. CDT ES are now on crazy sale thats why they are only over $300, if you wanted to buy CDT HD, they will cost you more, and ES is a higher line. No telling how long they will be on clearance. Either way, you cannot lose, and will be blown away by the difference compared to Infinity.

I think, the only decision here is to choose which brand of the two to run for front and rear. Flip a coin.

Well, because a lot of people near my home have some cdt especially es-6xx model and I would like to be a bit original so I would like to take the Diamond audio, but on the other side, CDT got already a sq name here (montreal) so if I want to sell them it would be easier.... But for now I will sell my stuff and probably go with Diamond Audio Hex series if they`re still as low as presently.
Is it bad to match up rear and front with the same brand but with different category. (exemple; CDT es-610 with some cdt cl-69x)

Go with Hexes if you want to be different, I would do the same, if everyone else had CDT. It is not bad to match up the ES for fronts with CL for rears. I would always try to match the brands for fronts and rears.

About the Hexes, I know there is a choice between silk and aluminum for front components, but not sure if there is a choice for tweeters in Diamond Audio coaxials. Even though, everyone here agrees for you to go towards the silks, but the Hexes use rebadged LPG-26NA(aluminum) and another LPG equavalent for the silk. Both are very similar. I am using the aluminum LPG-26NA at home and they are just amazing. I have yet to hear a smoother aluminum tweeter, so you wont be disappointed with the aluminum set either. However, CDT aluminums and titaniums are not for my ears, only silks from them.

I suppose it`s better to go with the same tweeter, for the coaxial I only see model with aluminum with the D3 speakers but there`s D6 who is convertible and they offer aluminum and silk tweeter. Does a convertible speaker is as good as a typical coaxial ?
