The L7's are a great sub.
follow the break-in procedure if you are daily driving them.(they will make a gluey smell>"kicker smell")
they live longer in a ported box. however, playing below the tuned frequency will destroy the spiders, especially with Alot of power(x2 recommended)
if utilizing 1200wrms + each,it will take it but be careful of the dreaded "kicker smoke",that follows the "kicker smell"(gluey stink).

Is the L7 an SQ sub? I have always considered the Comp VR to be a very good SQ sub.

I feel the MTX 9500 is a better sounding driver and for daily use would easily take it over the L7. Two 12" 9500's with the 2500D would be very loud. Four would be really really loud.
