Passive or active
A product rep will often recommend you stay with the passives for two reasons:
1) While a well tuned active setup will probably sound better, you'll get great performance from the passives and it's a no brainer.
2) It is 'safer' for the speakers (especially the tweeter) to run through the passive.

This is new territory for me, but like I always say... if you don't try, you'll never learn, plus with the knowledge from CCA members who have done this, I'm sure it won't be too painful an experience.
