I'm not saying to use those cheap plastic t-taps. That's why I put it in quotes. But the idea is the same. Strip, tap, solder and tape.

If you can wait for them to be special ordered, you can get a harness into the factory radio, and another into the factory harness and everything u need is there. There will be absolutely no need to cut, or even splice into wires. Any extra accessories you want to add can easily be tapped in here as well.

Sorry Brad. My bad. I didn't understand what u were saying. Solder is definitely the way to go.

This sounds pretty nice. I'm going to have to contact my local audio shop and see if they can get me these 2 pieces.

This will help me out big time if I ever need to disconnect the system and quickly switch back to factory.

They're not that common in store stock, but 2 out of 3 harness manufacturers we deal with offer these harnesses. If your local guys can't find them, I'm sure u can find them online.
