PING: SQ Competitors - Please share

I am currious to see if anyone would be into sharing a little more info about their SQ Competition system....if not too much trouble.

I am considering beginning to compete this year, if I can get the car finished in time and was wondering where I would end up in terms of CLASS and if it's even worth my time.

Here's what I have ready to into the car:

- Pioneer DEH-P800PRS Head Unit.
- Audison BitOne.1 Processor.
- Audison LRx5.1k
- Audison LRx2.9
- Hertz Mille ML280 Tweeters.
- Hertz HD500 Dome Midrange.
- Hertz Mille ML1600 6.5" Midbass (2 pairs).
- Hertz Mille AIR ML3800 Free Air 15" Subwoofer.

Power as configured: 2110w RMS

The LRx5.1k will power the Tweeters @ 60w RMS x 2, the mids @ 170w RMS x 2 and the Subwoofer @ 750w RMS x 1.
The LRx2.9 will power the midbass @ 2ohms, 450w RMS x 2.

Basic Diagram:

Being that I have never competed, where whould this system put me ?

I would love to see what others are running, who currently compete SQ in Canada.

Thanks,
Allan

This system will put you in any class you want. If you have no background in competing, I would suggest you start in the IASCA rookie class. Read the rules, and follow them. If you have questions - start a build thread here and post photos and I'm sure the established competitors will help you out.

I'll suggest these to you:
- 'ALL wiring' you add to the vehicle 'MUST' be protected with expandable sleeving or loom or conduit-(for outdoor routing)
- 'All wiring' must be secured - under carpet, under dash, trunk engine bay, doors etc.
- 'All 12vDC' must be protected and terminated
- 'All speaker must be protected - grills etc.

Plan your system out on paper. Or if your like me lay everything on the floor and map it out and then put it to paper.

I'm currently running Kenwood x794 radio, Zapco DC ref amps, Hybrid Audio Technology SE 2-way speakers w/ no tweeters and Sundown SA-12 sub

I see that you changed your mind and ditch the rear fill and went active, good move!

First, find out if shops in your area will have shows and for what organisation (MECA, IASCA, USACI...). Then check the rulebook and adapt your car/system for it.

You plan to show off your install or just want to do sound quality competition?

I'm running in IASCA Pro because I'm in the industry and I like their rules.

I have an 02 325i with: Pioneer DEX-P99RS; TS-S062PRS; TS-C172PRS; TS-W252PRS X 2; PRS-D1200SPL X 2; PRS-A900PRS X 2 & Hybrid Audio Legatia L1 Pro Tweeters.

My goal is to be completed the sound quality portion for the May 29th show in Vancouver, Washington and be completely finished by my first show in Coquitlam, BC. on June 12th

Well, I really don't want a very fancy install and will be going for pure stealth and OEM integration type of look....so I doubt it would be worth showing that off.

I am mainly interested in competing based on SQ alone more or less, once the interior is complete.

I'm unsure what this means Two layers of protection for every wire?

Does sandwiching your power/ground runs between sound deadening and the floor count as secured?

You have to use 'either' Loom, expandable sleeving or conduit(outdoors)

Not a great solution for securing but it's not my car!
