Please introduce me to some good SQ names [ components ]
The bass you'll get in those doors depends a lot more on the install than the speaker you choose.
The easy way out is an MDF panel to adapt the 6 1/2 like this:

But if you spend more on a baffle that will seal the speaker to the door panel, you'll easily double the low end output of the driver, like this:

Include around 2 1/2 hours labour for the midrange install into your overall budget and you'll be happy.

Slightly OT, sorry...
I'm close to replacing a set of door mounted 6.5 coax speakers with 6.5 components, and am trying to work out the final details (for an SQ type install).
Could expand a bit on the difference between the two pics you posted?
In particular, what are we seeing in the second pic vs the plain MDF baffle in the first?
BTW, the ported cavi door pods on your site are very impressive!
Cheers,

Ok...I'll try to give you my animated sales pitch in type, lol.
First I'm just talking normally, then I show you hou much more bass you'll hear from my voice when I cup my hands tightly around my mouth.
Now, if I move my cupped hands away, even a small space will cause the bottom to drop out.
The idea is to have all the pressure from the speaker forced through the grill, rather than some of it getting lost behind the door panel.
What you see in pic 2, is a 3/4" baffle, with a ring around it that seals to the inside of the door panel.
The difference is amazing. the speakers in the pic are Polk Momo 6 1/2", and with the door panels installed, easily play down to 50Hz. They absolutely Growl.

you may also want to look at Cantons.
they are incredible speakers especially for the money.
there is someone selling them on DIYMobileaudio.com for very reasonable prices. these are the best sounding speakers i've ever heard at their price point bar none.
worth a look I think...
