well I've heard enough of both and my vote is for rear fill....what's yours?

Normally I always say "stock sucks". In my front doors I am using Eclipse sc8365 3-ways. But in the case of rear fill, factory rear speakers seemed to be just right in my Superduty. Somewhat dull, not very loud, just enough to make the system sound complete.

I drove for a week without any rear speakers and it drove me nuts. Rear fill ftw.

Why spend money on the rear when that is money that could have gone to making the front even batter?

Front stage only. Keep it simple, and it will be easier to set up for nice imaging.

 

I found there to be a lot of dead space behind me. I could tell that there was something missing. However, that is in a Caravan where there is more space to fill. Perhaps in a smaller vehicle it would be different?

 

I had the same question Slaughter. I guess in a car or any smaller space type of vehicle rear speakers might make some kind of difference, but to be honest my vehicle is far to big a space to worry about it. My motto has always been "I'm in front so I could care less what the people in the back are hearing." I don't see how rear speakers can be so important to a system that is placed in a large space. So I guess my vote is rear fill is good if you can hear it. If you're like me and typically drive alone I can't see how it is of any benefit (says the guy who just put in some aftermarket speakers in the back of his van lol) they were free so I said why not

 

our music is made in stereo. why make it sound like a 4.1 when you only have 2.1 sound??? its like listening a movie with a 2.1 amp and adding 2 rear speakers. sounds like . ya it fills in the dead zone but ITS NOT SURROUND SOUND lol

my van i can barely hear it so they are off. AND i have massive audio 6x9 for rear and i had them free sooo frig ya hahahahha
