I haven't been by here in a long time - I brought home a project car and had a flash of nostalgia. I don't recognize many handles on here.
I thought some of the old timers might be interested in seeing the pics of this install. It's the same colour as the the car I competed with back in the late 90's, but it's not that exact car. Found one and restored it, shot it with new paint and turned those sob's loose on it.
4 a600.2's (including a spare 5th one) running a pair of PPI Pro 12's and a Dynaudio System 360 all from a 9255 (the newish one) 600w to the bottom end and 150 a side to each of the mid, dome and tweet.
I wanted to get the amps re-screened, but since PPI no longer really exists that wasn't an option. I did manage to find a pair of custom screened ones from way back in the day on ebay and couldn't pass them up. 2 black and 3 white ones - not the ideal cosmetics, but having them modded for no wires makes up for it?
Subs mounted Klodner style - same as the last install.
I have some left over gear that I'm selling on ebay for cheap - amps, subs, and a box full of various Dyn stuff - eBay Seller: thetreepilot: Electronics items on eBay.com

Wow, is that really Wade back on CCA? Nice to see you back! And definitely big thumbs up on the classic system in another NYG Neon. Huge props to you, man. I remember competing against your car in Edmonton back in 1997 with my Avenger. We were both in Pro class but you were a different wattage category. It was actually Gene that showed your car at that show. That was a really nice system. So Gene and the SOB crew in Lloyd did this install too? Let's see some more pics of those kicks. Are the midbass installed in the same fashion as last time?

The old neon never competed in Pro though - it was an amateur car built to settle a score with Qwan (Quan?) in Ama 151-300. Sadly he retired before the Neon was done. The JB's show in Edmonton was the day after Gene's stag as I recall. I was 2 provinces away working on the road and he was hung over something fierce. What a guy to get the car to the show for me though. The car did take best SQ Amateur though - it's one of the few trophies I kept from the old days.
This install was mostly done by Aaron, but the rest of the sobs had a hand in it too. The mids are similar to the old install - lots of airspace - they've upgraded from grinders and tin snips to plasma cutters though.

If you're on facebook, search sound obsessions - they have a fan page with construction pics from this install... along with all the old classics - Gene's Mustang, Delbert's Camaro, Verne's Tbird, the original neon, the Blazer, the Van (loudest in Canada in 2000), etc. etc.
Thanks Paul. Nostalgia was part of it, but cutting up newer cars and/or making compromises for sound/drive-ability was the other part. This way I get a no compromise car for sound/install and it's cheap enough that making swiss cheese really isn't an issue.

Thanks Paul.
