silk or titanium???
SILK!!!!!
for me
Titanium = They are not forgiving when you play a "medium" quality recording, they will reproduce all the details even the one you don't want. For HQ signal, WOW like i said they will reproduce every little details.
Silk = They are lot warmer, will be more forgiving on bad signal and can still sound pretty good with HQ sources.

titanium...but has to be damped like the JBL Gti's i have now. It's a titanium diaphragm suspended in a high loss rubber surround. That's very important to getting rid of the annoying harshness that's typical with metal domes. I've always liked the energy and dynamics of titanium domes...more concert sounding than silks (I like them too but more for home listening). In the car I like brightness, more sizzle, and excitement...i find good titaniums give me more of that.

I used to be biased towards silk/cloth/fabric whatever ....now though i have no preferance on the construction material it is more about the way it is implemented. I have heard great sounding tweeters from fabric designs and from metal designs (aluminum, titanium etc)
agreed x2
My silk dome tweeters have an FS of 800! Smooooooth is the best way to describe them.
I find that most hard dome tweeters have a tendency to rip your head off so that they can make your ears bleed more. I find that some customers love it that way. So, I keep some in stock just to please them.
