Small foot print amps
I just saw the Alpine 150x2, 150x4 and 1000x1 PDX amps in person and I gotta say they are incredibly small for the power you can get, especially the 150x4 and 1000x1. The Xtant 1.1 is a tiny amp, but it's only 1 channel too.
Eclipse has a 4 channel amp with gobs of power as well. It is the new ICEpower class D full range amp, 125w rms x 4 and the thing delivers big time. Size wise it is not too large but it is also not a small amp as well. Without knowing the space limitations or budget, it kinda makes it hard to recommend any one given amplifier for the application.
Only other one that comes to mind is the rather small Concept HC65.4.

Ive heard that the first of the full range class Ds had audible switching noise, especially at high frequencies....
but Id tend to think anything made since the late 90's would be decent... there are probably also class T amps around that will come in a compairatively smaller footprint and work at 2-4ohms...
class G and H amps are essentially class A/B but have higher efficiency and should come in a small footprint... but I don't know of anyone who makes them in car audio.....
