Sound Quality Summit - Northern US/Eastern Canada - 24 April - IMPORTANT REVISION
Update:
We've got some great attendance numbers so far - 19 registrations so far!
More good news, for enthusaists thinking about it:
Many of the registrations so far are industry affiliates... and therefore don't qualify for the free speakers. Those are reserved for non-affiliated enthusiasts (like you).
So, there are just a few spots remaining that qualify for the free DLS component set.
Good math on this one:
Register for Scott Buwalda's all-day SQ seminar for $250.
Receive for free one DLS Magnesium 6.5" component set worth $329.
Simple as that.
And this is getting close - April 24th.

A quick update. There are still a few sets of FREE speakers to be had. As of right now, we have the following attendees:
Enthusiasts = 5
Competitors = 1
IASCA Judges/Management = 2
Retailers = 11
Distributors = 3
Factory Representatives = 1
That makes 23. But in the last, revised count, we still have four sets of speakers left for enthusiasts and competitors! droy, any news on if you think you might be attending?
I haven't heard from PLOW, battyrida, or MDXMan yet...you guys seemed pretty pumped up in the original feeler thread. Drop me a line if you've lost interest and I'll leave you alone! LOL

I have an important revision to make to this thread. DLS has offered an upgrade to the MS6 component set to the Ultimate Pro UP6 set!!!!! DLS is doing this to stimulate interest in the Summit. Yes, a UP6 set just for signing up!!!!

As regards the speaker upgrade - this is a lucky break for the Buffalo summit only, I am sure.
DLS's official donation was for the MS6 comp set.
It just happened that DLS was low on stock on the MS6's at the time of shipping them, so they were very kind to substitute the UP6's in their place to keep their obligation.
This is a great break for Buffalo - after all, the MS6's are a great $329 comp set... but the UP6's are a significant upgrade.
So I'd guess this was simply a one-time substitution, that's all.
I don't have the pricing here in front of me, but I believe these are over $400 each.
Just awesome news for Buffalo attendees.
So for any holdouts... we've got a great crowd of registrants so far, around 20 people so far.
And many of these people are industry affiliated - and that's not to say techies - so the conversation will stay on topic.
This is good for enthusiasts, because only non-industry-affiliated attendees can get the free speakers.
So now, register for one of the few remaining spots for $250, and get a free $400+ DLS Ultimate Pro component set.
That's a bargain and a half - literally.

Yes, there is a $130 USD difference in price between the MS6 set and the UP6 set. The MSRP on the MS6 set is $359 USD, and the MSRP on the UP6 set is $489 USD.
----------------------
So, let's do the math ONCE more:
For $250 USD you get:
8 1/2 hour advanced technical seminar.
Full-color note-taking booklet to take home.
A free copy of a 12 song CD with some of my favorite tracks for SQ tuning.
A free copy of the IASCA Setup and Test CD (now out of print and VERY rare).
A free copy of the IASCA Setup and Test CD liner notes.
Sound quality listening demonstrations using a high-end home audio system.
Sound Quality Summit Tour T-shirt.
Lunch and refreshments.
A set of $489.00 USD super high-end speakers with crossovers.
I almost feel like registering for $250.00! Someone want to do the talking? I'll sit and listen for eight hours, learn a bunch, get a full tummy, with a new shirt, and walk away with a speaker set worth more than the seminar entry fee. This is a killer deal if I say so myself.
