I'm looking for a sub to replace my treo ss 12. I would like something comparable to a boston pro series in terms of sq but i would also like something that can provide a bit of thump. the treo is good for this but i'm looking for something a tad more sq.
Any suggestions?

JL W6 (W7 too I guess more SP than SQ IMO) one of my favorite woofers period
I have always liked Rockford woofers I just dont say it too much
Many of the Memphis can pull double duty (a friend did SQ and SPL comp with this)
The Kicker Comp VR is good too (but they are too pricey in Canada only $89 in US)
Have you rtried different tuning/ boxes for the Treo? They can sound good too
ID is always a good choise
Eclipse woofers are very good and loud($$$$)

Get my sub. I can get you one for $200. Which includes the box,.. built to spec. Its an SQ sub (sounds frickin' incredible) that can really cut it. Its not SUPER loud. mine only did 131 dbs. But that was with a small amp. I'll be getting a 500si soon, and then it'll do more.
The Vifas a Loud sub, that sounds out of this world. ITs ultra-musical, and very very fast. Very articulate sub. Thats for DAMN sure. you gott hear it man, its so incredible.

If you will be using the Brutus in your sig to power it I agree with Sassmaster on recommendations.

i don't really want to use the brutus. i'm not very impressed with it so far.
i will likely rebuild the box for my treo and see how things are.
i'm definately interested in hearing some ID subs in the future though.
the boston pro series subs are super tight but they just don't have the boom i'd like.

Eclipse aluminum series have been a stellar performer over the years.
