i agree with sassmaster..for the power you have an IDMax or maybe a RE XXX might be a bit underpowered for the xxx though
maybe you just need a cleaner amp to power the sub you have... I wouldnt consider the brutus an SQ amp...also a proper box will help make a $100 sub sound like a $1000 sub...just my 2c worth

i agree. the brutus is definately a disappointing amp for my needs. the box i have now is okay. it definately could be better though.

Oh yeah either one of these will be sweet. I would also look at the Image Dynamics IDQ V3, they sound amazing and will still take power and get loud. Take a peak at these also.

 

I'd agree with the ID if you want low...the ID Max has the lowest bass I've heard to date, but the midbass is a bit weak....you need a good strong mid to keep up.. Just don't expect it to be bullet proof....always a trade off between SQ and durability. The lighter and tighter the tolerences, the more delicate the driver....TANSTAAFL

phoenix gold 12Elite is a good sq sub but will play low
just make sure b/c soon there will be a version that has the spl cone with it so the sq version is the one with the tri led's on the cone
