Starting my SQ Project

Well, I have been reading around this forum for quite some time and I have finally decided to embark upon my SQ setup in the new year.

I got the following equiptment from my uncles ISACA-competeing SQ Camry.
His amp died and so did his head unit. So I replaced the amp and the headunit, and he said I could take out all the customized stuff and keep it.

So here we go with some pictures

The Car:
- 1994 Honda Accord Station Wagon

Current Equiptment In Aforementioned Car:
- Pioneer DEH-P6800MP
- Soundstream 5 1/4" 2 way components (Model # unsure, box is in garage)
- Clarion ProAudio 1500.1 Amp
- Kicker Solobaric 06S12L5 in kicker spec box

Plans:
- Custom Amp Rack and custom floor to encase subwoofer
- Contemplating replacing subwoofer to JL audio subs (2x10" or 1x15")
- Fibreglass door panels to properly aim the components (for correct imaging and PLD)(I dont want kickpanels merely because my car is 5-speed and i like to rest my foot where the kickpanel would be located)
- Center channel speaker in the dash (Again Fibreglassed for soundstaging and imaging)
- Supertweeters in the A-Pillars
- Bi-amping the components up front (hopefully adding a midbass speaker or - upgrading to a 3 way component set)
- multi-channel amp(s) to power front stage
- Contemplating rear 'fill' either 6x9's or 6 1/2's

I would greatly appreciate any input you may have on setting this whole SQ system up.

I have been reading up on soundstaging and proper imaging through PLD, but I want to make sure I set it up right for crisp clean clear sound.

I dont have any intentions to compete, but if I can complete a nice install and tune this ISACA-show-winning equiptment in my vehicle, I might think about entering a few shows.

I seek input and information specifically on the following if you are so kind to help:

Bi-Amping:
I understand that if i Bi-amp my front components, I will need a channel for each speaker (tweeter and midrange). If I am to add a third speaker to the front door (a 6 1/2" mid-bass) to my existing component set (soundstream 5 1/4"), can i still use the supplied passive crossover for the soundstream component set from the High Pass output on my 24XS crossover and the Low Pass output for my midbass?

Midbass Speaker:
Would it be wise to add this third speaker to the front door. I will be aiming it not directly to the drivers ear (as the midrange and tweeter will be aimed that way), and not pant leg firing like in the stock location, but on a tangent towards the passengers torso area, and vice versa on the passenger side to the drivers torso. I would appreciate any input on the placement of this speaker.

Super tweeter and tweeter:
If Bi-amped, is it possible to use the same channel for these two speakers? Is it wise at all to use a super tweeter at all? even if it were at ear level?
My tweeter from my component set will be placed on my fibreglass door panel firing the same direction as my 5 1/4" midrange.

Rear speakers/'fill':
I have been reading about this topic and I have come to the conclusion that this is merely a personal preference. My car is a wagon and there is alot of space for sound to travel.
My concern here is merely a question to the people on here who have SQ setups in vans or SUVs or wagons, I just want to know what you did in this situation.

I think i am going to set up my front soundstage first and then try out the rear fill using my deck's internal amplifier, as I dont think I have enough crossovers to filter the output.

General:

I would greatly appreciate if anyone who has experience with Audiocontrol equiptment similar to the above could help me figure how to hook this stuff up correctly, taking into consideration what I want to accomplish above^.

Ok, in order:

I'd consider changing the subs, the L5 isn't really much of a SQ woofer, especially ported, and even more so in a wagon as you'll hear any port/cone noise easily.

If the Soundstreams are Exact's I'd keep them, if not... consider replacing.

Tweeters in the A pillars are usually used to only play very high frequencies to raise the sound stage. You would either need to build a passive crossover for them or add an amp.

I'm anti center channel unless you're doing 5.1. Same with rear fill.

PLD is important... but out of the doors you will never get the PLD's close to equal. People use kickpanels to get the speakers further away and get them closer to equal. You'll be limited coming out of the doors.

If you add a midbass to your 3 way you could use your passives on the 5.25 and tweeter and your 24xs between them... if you can get the right frequency chips for the 24xs. Or, you might choose amps with internal crossovers. Another option is an external processor that could cross everything over, and provide equalisation, and give you your center channel even...

Aiming the midbass speaker is not very important as bass is not very directional.
