Do you think I will still have phase issues if the speakers are crossed over at the same level? For my set-up, Diamond has mid-bass crossovers that have a low-pass filter to the midbass from 200 or 400 and a matching hi-pass to the midrange, so I figure there should be limited phase issues, other than maybe right around the crossover point.

is this an issue even with sound dampening material covering the entire door? I thought back wave was not a big deal if the speakers are baffled well enough.

As for the type of car, it is a Kia Rio - and I don't know if I'm quite ready to build enclosures for the door, but I am installing those plastic cups or whatever they are called to set the 6.5s into. For $15 a pair its worth a try anyway.

Look at the Morel 6's, I'd say you won't NEED a sub, tho .., it won't hurt

NO SUBS???? are you guys crazy? what's next factory amplifiers and stock speakers? Enough of this crazy talk, go to your nearest car audio shop and buy a couple of subs right away, wash your mouth out with soap and dip your typing finger(s) in rubbing alcohol. This is 2005 not 1905, every car should have a subwoofer or 3. Even the factory is putting dual subs in their cars(2005 stang-shaker 1000). Do you guys want to be laughed at, called names and not allowed to join in any car audio games. It's just crazy!!! Anyway to each his/her own!

Well, after further deliberation and listening to music in my car... the sub will stay

Thanks for all the input - all I need now is a more powerful amp to push my Diamond Audio TDX 12 to it's sonic nirvana sounds I know it is capable of!
