subs
So you spent however many dollars on W7 8s to play from 80-100hz?? You do know any decent midbass driver will do that range as well.
You're going for SQ, you should either just be running the 8s or the 12 and mid bass drivers to pick up the 100hz area, not other subs.
I remember car audio from the 80's worked on the theory of using 18's, 15's, 12's, 10's, 8's, 6.5's, 5.25's, 4's, 3.5's and tweeters to cover the audio range ("fill the gaps") but common sense and technology have since prevailed and you can cover this range with a 3 way system.
Sub sizes do not determine that they are "boomy" or not, install and poor crossover points do. You made a good choice on the Focal for the top end, you should have just bought a pair of W7 10's instead of the 8's and 12 and saved your self some money and made a better sounding sytem that is also easier to install.
