suggestions on double din decks

Im looking to buy a double din deck. I dont really know what to look in for a good deck so any suggestions would be very helpfull. i'm looking to buy something for around 500$ but can go higher if at that price it's not worth it. I'm looking also to put amplified speakers later on.

I was looking and found this

http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?sku_id=0665000FS10099471&catid=1203 8&logon=&langid=EN&test%5Fcookie=1

not shure if it's any good, could anyone shine some light on this?

Your thread doesn't work.
As for SQ, talk to MR2NR about the Eclipse decks

Just curious... why double-din?

Did you want a cd/dvd player with a screen? Or do you just want audio and no video?

There are plenty of options out there so it would be easier to help you look if we knew more details.

What vehicle would you like to put this in? Do you want ipod or mp3 player control? Would you like to connect a cd changer to it? Or at least have these options for later?

i need a double din cuz i want to fill up the space in my dash. i have a 06 civic and to put an aftermarket deck i need to change the dash and it has a double din opening. also i would prefer audio/video cuz it looks nicer haha. ipod controls would be a plus but as long as it has an aux input it's fine with me

Lots of options for you to consider. I have the AVHP4000DVD in stock and if you are after a damn good (as in superior in every way) unit to the Pioneer, the Eclipse AVN6620 I just had come in the door as well.

ECLIPSE AVN6620 DVD Navigation System with 7inch Wide TFT Display and Dual DVD Multi-Source Receiver AVN6620 | Fujitsu Ten

Add me to msn if you could as it is way easier to talk there.

Yeah, the dd screens are nice.

For around the price this one would be my choice.

Pioneer AVH-P4100DVD (sorry, I can't post URL's until I have 5 posts.)

It has 3 sets of pre-outs. Front, Rear and Subwoofer. I just couldn't be without the subwoofer pre-out.

It has lots of input options including ipod, (control capability with adapter).

And the overall mix of look and options are decent.

Shopping around, you shouldn't have to spend over $500 on this model.

Yes, if you hook up an amplifier and run a subwoofer, the volume level signal would be sent through the dedicated subwoofer pre-out. The same goes with the front and rear pre-outs. If you plan to run your speakers off of amplifiers in the future, this unit has the pre-outs you'll need to control the amplifiers. (volume)
