See, I agree with Dukk. He's absolutely right.

If I played my guitar and it was out of tune...then I know it's out of tune, everybody in the room knows it's out of tune. You can't sit there and listen to an out of tune guitar and bluntly say "oh yea, that sounds right"

Either it sounds the way it's suposed to or it doesn't...if my van is going down the road and it's making a funny noise I don't just say to myself "that's normal I'll ignore it" and then actually believe it....I dunno if you catch my drift or not...hopefully someone does. lol

Yea, I see what your saying Defro.

It's kinda like, a lot of people don't know the difference between a tuned guitar and one that isn't because they've never heard the diference between the 2 kinda like what Dereck was saying.

I absolutely agree that music is subjective to the listener.

I sense a group hug...

I haven't said a thing yet (not that anyone really cares anyways, lol)...interesting opinions guys.

Personally, I enjoy the music first before getting into the technicalities of image placement....soooo I side with Dukk as far as priorities.

Mind you, when the tonality is bang on, and image placement is the size of a grapefruit instead of a basketball within the soundstage, and the soundstage is not rainbowing and s beyond the a-pillars and spills out onto the hood across & above the dash it's a magical thing....and one WORTH striving for!!

Group hug?

(brandon get's up and leaves.....*door closes behind him*) lol

I also agree with you that the music is first.

I didn't get into car/home audio for the equipment or technology....Music is what got me started.

However, my priorities are slightly different.

imaging
tonality
staging

In that order. Basically, all I really care about is if the singer is center when he/she is supposed to be, same with all the instruments.

Tonality is next...once everything/everyone is in thier proper place in the stage I can worry about making a guitar sound like a guitar.

Then comes Staging the last peice of MY puzzle, as everyone's puzzle seems to be different.
The guitar now sounds like a guitar but it also sounds like it's being played under my dash close to the firewall with NO height, depth or width. That's no good. But everything else comes before the little battle called staging, because adding an extra set of tweeters crossed over high, to bring the stage up is easy.

Yea, I realize that, it includes depth, width, height....possibly I'm forgetting something but that's the main ones.
