Just curious what routes people take to tune against an RTA? Are there shops in the GTA that will help you tune, or perhaps rent out RTAs and mics? anyone have any ideas on pricing?

Also, does anyone know of any 'home DIY' RTAs, that are somewhat affordable? I've seen some sotware based RTAs, but you require a calibrated mic, etc..

Why do you want to tune it with a RTA ? Are you competing in IASCA or USAC or something ?

It's nice for finding any strong deviations. It is definatly not essential, but you can "see" what kind of changes your making.

Dual Image Dynamics IDQ31 1/3 octive..

I've got all the equipment I'm going to need, I hope to have my install ready sometime in the spring. I have a bit of front stange sorting out to do, as my chameleons are being replaced by ID.

BTW, love the install work you've done Tim! (you wouldn't happen to be in the GTA area would you?)

Nope, the greater Surrey area

Thanks for the compliments.

I wouldn't worry about the RTA right now, it is pretty useless, especially with out a EQ that you can save presets in.

You can go through Dave Mac, or if he's busy, call us aty KANKAR as we have an Audio Control RTA and may be able to find some time to tune your ride up. Also, the guys at JAM tune cars (Jamie and Mark in the Oakville area) although I think they will be very busy in the next little while.

Yeah, I'm not looking for a completely flat curve or anything, but I'm sure there will be some smoothing out to do.. I guess there is only so much tuning you can do by ear.

I agree, it's very nice to be able to visualize the changes you make..
