Hey well i'm new too this site (one of the better ive seen out there ) and was wondering if I could get some help in upgrading my system, I'm currently running two 10" DVC Kicker CompVR sub's 300rms 600 max, both being run by an alpine MRD-M500 at 2ohms, Its loud ill give it that but i think i can still squeeze a little more bass outa them, I do have two MRD-M500's. Just wondering if its worth adding the second amp and risk blowing them or stick with what i have.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

the more power u have the more potential control that u will have over the subs. how ever if u are just tring to make the system louder more amps may not be the best solution for u! one of the biggest things in a system is the box! for sub performace, bolth things sq and spl. what ever your preference is! so from here we need to know what type of enclosure your subs are in!

well! so that is the box eh!? here is the deal, that box was probably designed for bass extension and not spl! how ever if u do add another amp your spl will increase and depending on how efficient the eclosure is that will determine how much your score will go up by. probably a db or two is the average increase. your subs no matter what they preaty much are will eventually burn out if u run them full tilt all the time or even real hard from a cold condition under listening conditions! in spl burps u want every thing to be cold so cation will have to go to the wind for higher scores. now as far as the box; if u don't mind compremising how it all sounds then this is one of the #1 ways to get more out put. like i said though it won't sound preaty. that is just a little bit of stuff for u to mull over!

Thanks alot Justin, I will take what you've said into consideration. I appreciate all the help

Just wondering what you mean by my box being built for Bass Extension instead of SPL?

an spl box is meant to kind of have a big peak were it maxes out at so that u can get the most preashure out of the sub possible u can see how this is no good for music in general. so you need a box that has a good flat response and plays a lot of rang. this king of box building just requires experience. there should be some profetionals in your area that could realy help you with these decisions! hope this helps u!
