i use a very unique set up in my car, the door midrange/bass is crossed over 160hz and up at 30db/octave and my dash woofer is crossed over at 180hz and down at 30db/octave lowpass and it sounds very good, it has virtually eliminated being drawn to the doors at lower frequencies that usually happens with door and k/p mounted midbass. i am fortunate enough to be able to have a woofer mounted in the center of my dash facing up at the windshiled. this type of set up only works with front dash mounted woofers for obvious reasons

I looked at 8" midbass for the doors. I looked at it really hard. It would be a tonne of work in my SX so I'm not sold on it. It will get 6.5s for now and maybe one day when I am ambitious I will hack up a set of door panels
I'm just gonna put more power on the 6.5s to compensate
