TRU amplifiers are indeed one of the best sounding amplifiers on the market...they are deadly accurate and a bit forward sounding. They are the best built amplifier I have seen.

wait a minute here kids are you going to tell me that those amps sound better than my jbl px 300.4 amps because the are 3x the money........... dont even go there kids!!!!!! you are way out of your league if you think that tru or brax or arc sound any better... a good amp design with proper execution and here it is the most important part............ proper install of the speakers........IS what you should be consentrating on........ you are so consered about getting an sq amp when you should be concentrating on quality speakers and planning planning planning of the layout of the system... think i am full of it....... well fine do your own homework... look at the last 10yrs of iasca and usaci sq champs and the amps range from alpine to zapco... no one amp dominates; but speakers, ah yes now here we see some repetion....... focal , quart, boston aqustics, criket, ect... what do you actually hear...... the c.d. player...... the amp......... the wire....... no all the sound comes from............................. the speakers.............. they produce the out put that they get from the input they recieve from the later.... now i agree that all the other things i mentioned play a small......... very small roll in the sound quality but the majority ( which is what i am concered with) of sound is gererated by the speakers. but that in no way means that buying those cricket speakers and duct taping them to the windsheild means they will sound awsome.... please please dont fall into the horrible philosiphy that more money on amp equals better sound.... i have been doing this since 85 and man amps are cool, more power is awsome but better design will win every time...

EASY THERE TIGER!!! settle down for a sec. if you took the time to read my first post you would see that I took time to pick a "QUALIY" speaker, morel supremo it's up there with the best of them. And yes I had my installer to play with proper tweet angles and to make the mids as solid as they can be so yes they were planned and executed properly. And NO, more expensive equip does not mean they will sound better.

It is NOT all up to the speakers that make it a sq system it is 1) installation/ speaker placement which I have and 2) tunning who better to tune a system than tim.

I asked for opinions about these amps to compliment my system READ AGAIN TO COMPLINENT not to rely on amps to make a world of difference like you assumed.

So take a chill pill and relax a bit. Most people who bash high end equip are usually the ones who can't afford them.

And yes tru amps sound better than your jbl's IMO

As for everyone else thanks for the suggestions, I think I will wait for the copper's to come out and try out the hybrid tube amp. If they are going to be as good as the c7, they are going to be amazing.

lol. Tim's not banned on this site, let alone his shop name. Anytime he wanted to make a useful contribution he could.

And goalie_35s gear is certainly up to the task - if competition results are what make the man, then he has well earned the right to speak up. He may have come across a little strong there but many people believe comparing the sound quality of well made amps to be a fruitless endeavor.

It's guys with attitude like that that steer me away from entering into sq competition, no wonder this sport is dead here in the lower mainland.
