Trying to go as much as i can towards an SQ system... Sub & amp?
Hey,
So Im using a pioneer P800PRS head unit, and I have a Jlaudio 300/4v2 amp currently driving 2x Digital Designs 6x9s in carpeted boxes and 2x JLAudio ZR series 5.25 components in the dynamatted doors.
I have 8 Gauge run to the amp currently, and a second 8 Gauge run for a sub/amp....
In retrospect since i was putting in CL2 double insulated 14 gauge speaker wire to everywhere, i should maybe have put in heavier power wire, But I had originally planned for a smaller system..
I was thinking about eliminating the rear 6x9s, swapping that awesome JL amp out for the 2channel equivalent and using it to drive the door speakers, and installing the best sub and amp I can using the other 8 gauge.
My other option is to combine both 8 gauges into a distro block. but the runs are not side by side or the same length, and that means i shouldnt run them parallel.
The front doors are wrapped pretty heavily in dynamat and sound amazing...
the entire rear of the car from under the rear seats all the way to the bumper is wrapped in dynamat (2 layers where necessary).
I was planning on using a single 10w7 or equivalent. with matching amp.
My RCAs are out of this world.
Help a fella out?
Whats a guy to do.

matched to what amp? and what kinda deal interested.
have to google the stuff up for reviews and such..
i have alot of variability in how big the box is, so i can give it just the right amount of space..
then start looking at sealed or ported, if ported what shape and size port, etc..

I'd go with the Icon in a 1.25cf3 ported enclosure tuned at 29-30hz range
and stick a Exile Xi 1500.1 amp on it..
the Exile Xi series are very good sounding amps and are proving to be very reliable
as for the enclosure design..that I will help you with if you purchase the Icon
