puff puff pass people. </font>
Man, you have no clue who Dave is do you?
He does the test reports for car audio in PAS Mag you moron, he's likely got more experince with different companies than everyone here put together. And I only read his test reports, because I know, he knows his stuff.
So, you may want to listen, you might learn something.

I wouldnt use the word obvious. In your vast knowledge and experience did you every work retail?
If you did you would know that 85% of customers think voice coil slapage is sound quality. Thats why I dont get into which product is better conversations. To argue those points the person has to at least know what good sound is

I find there is a noticable between "tube sound" and that of solid state amplifiers. But I can understand why some people can't. My wife couldn't hear the differance when I brought my first set of tubes home, but once she sat down and we did some a/b testing, even she could hear the differance (she didn't seem to care much though, LOL). But in this case I wasn't sure if the differance would be noticable because the amp in question is a hybrid. Cosmetics are the main reason that I would like to stick with all tube amps. Otherwise I will have to make a cover for my sub amp that makes it look like the front end tube amp. But I'm not willing to sacrifice a noticable amount of SQ for it.

Slow.. I did indeed work in retail, that's how I got started 16 years ago... I've been an installers, salesperson, sales rep, tech rep, writer, test report guy, product specialist, consultant, judge and webmaster in the car audio industry.
You are absolutely correct in your statement about the general public not knowing what they are listening to. I should have remmebered that before stating that the difference was obvious..
Proof is that people are buying products based on styling and cosmetics rather than performance.
I guess I notice it because I listen to everything in a very controlled environment - same source, same speakers, same music and no appreciable background noise...
Brandon, thanks for the kind words... I hope you are reading them for the humour though.. If only you guys could see my original version before they get edited...
