Tweaking for IASCA

I have been doing some tweaking to try and achieve a few more sub-bass points. Using track 6 on the IASCA disc (deep organ pedal notes) I am able to really get the air moving by boosting the eq at 20hz. Problem is as I boost the eq I start to hear more noise coming into the system which is noticeable during quiet passages. Is there any way to eliminate the noise but still have the sub-bass boost where I need it?

What kind of noise are you hearing? You aren't really supposed to hear the pedal notes, you should notice the pressure change and even feel the note.

I am achieving what I want: feeling the air around me vibrate when the organ notes hit. The noise is not related to the particular frequency I am boosting. The noise is introduced into the system as I turn up the eq, like gain hiss.

If you'd like, come by for some rta work. You'll be amazed at what you're missing and what you have too much of.

Yeah. That's what I heard as well. Apparently the last issue is the Nov 2008 issue, but there is no mention in the mag itself.
