Type R vs Type X subs

It is always good to have a lil headroom in your amp, just don't turn your gains up as much.

You're going to need all the power you can afford with those subs... they're not very efficient, but they do sound nice. If you have the peak handling of the sub in RMS you'll be fine...Set your gains as normal, and just be careful not to play long, loud notes for extended time. If you're using a ported box, it'll help a lot if your amp has a subsonic filter. If not buy an outboard one.

i'm getting the alpine mrd605 from the states shortly..that's 600rms@14.4v so i've pretty much matched up the rms. A little more than I wished to spend but I think I'll be happy with it.

the type x has a higher mount on them might have more excursion ill test them soon for fun =]

get the type r...thats what im getting...some say the type r is better some say the type x is...its all opinion..but id get the type since its cheaper

^ I dont think anyone said type R was better than the type X, it is meerly less expensive and a little smaller (both are darn attractive BTW). I seriously doubt anyone who has compared the two would say that R is better than X... but you are correct it is opinion!

the type X is a woofer that is only made in dual 4 ohm coils . They will not be comming out with 2 ohm coils because they want their customers to run thier amps at 2 ohms
