Using Solen/Madisound drivers to build a comp set?
I know KillerAccord had a set from Madisound, but I'm wondering the quality of some of the drivers they have.
What I would like to do is build my own comp set using their drivers, but they have some companies I've never heard of and the prices are strange because usually you pay through the nose for good drivers.
example, I would like to use a set of Illusion T25SN tweets, but at 36 bucks for the pair, I'm wondering what I'm paying for...I know Illusion is a pretty reputable company but that seems aweful cheap
Using the Illusion tweets and Vifa P13MH0008's I can have a comp set for around 165 bucks...WTF?
Maybe it's just me but that seems kinda strange...or maybe I'm just used to Focal's pricing...which is anything but cheap for the better comp sets.
Any comments?

Brandon,
putting your time towards the building of a custom component set will often yield rewards you would otherwise be unwilling to pay for. the time and effort you may put in is alot cheaper than that of a manufacturer and says nothing about the quality of the driver. a quality driver is a quality driver.
ie, if Alpine decides to use (modified )SS revelator technology for its F#1 Status components, so be it, and if they charge you $3500 USD for a component set which's parts you can source for $1000 so be it also. now, would you be upset or think less about buying an equivalent (the differences are so marginal in the grand scheme of things) component set of revelator drivers for only $1000 and think you are underpaying?
