Any thought into putting a little time into how your current gear will sound in that car before you go through the pain of rebuilding a dash? Doing a dash build is something you can't really change once it's done so if you mess up, well....

Brandon, I get the feeling that you love technology.

Ever check out Meridian home audio stuff. It will open your eyes.

Hehehe, yea, gotta have technology. I hate complicated menu's and manuals though. If I have to read through a manual that's a mile thick just to get something to work...I usually won't....I'll just start pressing buttons untill something pops up that I like(leave that one alone thank you very much :D )

(in Homer voice) Mmmmmmmmm Meridian sooo nice.

Wish I had more money.

Oh of course, I've thought about that. I decided against it, because I wanted to do something new that I had never tried before....I will first remove the old dash...build a new frame of some sort, with the gauge cluster in the middle of the dash, then wrap it and sounddeaden and fiberglass the livin snot out of it.

I will leave the stock dash intact and un-modified in storage in the attic of the garage so if I ever sell the car I will simply(or the dificult way) put the stock dash back in the car, then I will have a 1000 dollar SQ comp dash up for sale for a 94 and older Cavalier :D

Brandon: I have the same car, I'm abandoning it for SQ, the difference between the driver side and passenger side for the imagins is just too much IMO, but if U need any parts, lemme know, I may have one for sale soon!! LOL.

You mean the pathlenghths are too much?

You know what, I really haven't had the chance to measure ANYTHING at this point.... the car is in Florida so I won't be able to do anything till it gets back next spring. My tune may change once I get measuring stuff and actually sitting down to take a look at stuff.

I also may be buying another Prelude(95 SR) So if I can work something to get that car, I will do it up instead. But most likely I will continue with the plans for the Cavalier.

yeah, the path lengths are a little off kilter, if you'd like ot take a look, come on over.

Brandon 06-07-2004 04:50 PM

Yea, sure, I'll make the 4 hour trek to Kitchner for that :D lol

Naw, I believe you....but they didn't look to bad from what I can remmeber. Especially if I'm gonna do a dash install where the speakers will be set back as far as possible.

well you could bring that Dennonford deck over, and the behringer.

And do what with them?

Actually, what I would like to do, is grab that trim peice that has the deck and HVAC controls off you so I can possibly start on doing up a trim peice for the 8250.

well, the car died yesterday, so if it's completely dead, you can have it.
