Well for me in the las few years ive switched stuff around alot but heres what ive basicly decided is going in my next car that i build

Head Unit Alpine iva w505 ( just for the fiberoptic output )
Processor Alpine pxa-h701 theve always been verry reliable ( i do have a n audison Bitone in my tool box though that may come into play depending on what type of car i decide on)
Spleakers well for me i wait to see where there gonna be placed in a vehicle, if i can put my set of Aline F#1 three ways in ill do those, but if they arnt gonna fit ill realy choose depending on were there gonna go in the vehicle, off axis or on axis every speaker is gonna react different and i dont want to fully destroy my car trying to fit speakers in but if the F#1s dont work Ive always loved Focals for some reason
Amps Well im becoming a pretty big fan of the Audison Lrx line expecialy the 5.1k but again i think it will come down to what is gonna look best where i want to put them, my oppinion on amps is that your not gonna see a huge difference beween them as long as your compairing good quality amps
Subs Ill probably do a matching brand to the speakers but i would like to do, of all subs, a alpine type R 12, i dont know what it is but ive had huge sucess getting these woofers to have a nice linear ouput, and they can take a realy good beating, and if i decide to just go strait sq ill probably use my AVI SLS300 smoothest bass output out of any woofer ive ever used

so there it is thats whats goin into my next car as soon as I save up the money to buy one

Had to work well and sound good in my car, which I am in every day all day! Listened a lot and trusted my ears in combination with a little research on products. The wish list was far different from the reality list. After all was said and done, I was okay with the results.

Well my current build hasn't really started, I'm just acquiring gear for it currently but here's the what and why:

Headunit - None

I was unwilling to lose the factory look or factory nav/bluetooth/integration with the gauge cluster.

Processor - JBL MS-8

This is the only factory interface/processor that really interests me, keep factory headunit and volume ****, 8 channels of completely flexable output, Logic7 processing, 8 channel onboard amp, autotune that sounds VERY promising.

Amplifers: Blade SE6175, Zapco C2X9.0X, JBL MS-8 onboard power

Blade SE6175, I had this, and it's very compact for the power (6x175 rated, tested at about 6x250, the amp is 30"x1.6"x9" roughly). I was considering selling it for a pair of JL HD900/5's and bridging them down somewhat, but I found a way to make this fit.

The Zapco, I wanted well over 1kw @ 4 ohm, compact, and efficient. Not much else out there that fits the bill and found one cheap.

JBL MS-8 onboard power - Plan to use this for rear fill. I'm trying to track down a Blade SE1175 but that may never happen. If this is totally underpowered I'll find something tiny and bury it.

Speakers:

Morel Elate 6 3-way - I had these, and they fit. I loved them in my last car so no reason to change.

Hybrid Audio Legatia L3 - Center channel, found a lone one cheap.

Focal 136K2 - Had these leftover, one tweeter is bad and I never liked the TN45, but the mids should be fine for rear fill.

Hybrid Audio Clarus tweeters - They work well with the focal crossovers from the above set, were on sale, and combined shipping with the L3.

Subwoofer - Morel Ultimo 12". I bought this purely on reputation and don't think I'll be disappointed.

If it sucks I have 6 Funky Pup 8" to put in it's place, those should seriously bump.

So tell me about the MS-8 I have been waiting for years and years for this to hit the streets (does it chash the check so to speak)

I think JBL might actually get the MS8 to market this year! I'm not betting on it though - going with a BitOne.

And dooooood, where did you score the Funky Pups?

^Lots of people hate the bitone... I suppose you really want 4 way active.

I think we would all love the to have an ms8... especially JBL hehe.

From what I have read, early BitOnes had some issues but, amazingly, the manufacturer actually did something about it (unlike most) and current ones are fine.

I need 3way+sub. That limits the processor field substantially. Now, with built in high level inputs, two line level aux inputs, and a nifty controller, it really narrows the field to pretty much the BitOne, and maybe the MS8 if it ever comes out

bitones have a bit of a learning curve and yes they had a few issues but the only real problem i ever had was that you had to use the right software version with the right bitone version. After you get past that hurdle you just have to remember to close the program before you unplug the usb from the bit one. Very cool unit though, not 100% sold on there de-equalization software found a little distortion when its turned on and why you have to do initial setup through analog and you cant do it through fiber optic is beyond me but hey Dukk is right at least those Italians are smart enough to fix the issues and relatively quickly

I got them on here about 4 years ago. I think I have a single 10 or 12 too.. a box of 15's would be sick tho lol.

Worst case I may run a different processor... I have my H701 still and could do 5.1 I guess, or something... wire up the W200 for tuning only.

I really do think the MS8 will be out very soon, there are pics of the new cosmetics floating around and the JBL rep on DIYMA says there will be a big MS8 announcement at SBN.
