ChinaMan,

I'm assuming you are refering to the Kimber Cable 4 PBR.

Funny thing is, that I'm considering trying it out myself. Corey Greenberg (old Stereophile Scribe) liked it a lot, and I've been recomended to it by a few other people. That said...I'm still going to get some extension cord from Home Depot and see how it works.

Personally, I found much bigger rewards in playing with interconnect than speaker cable. (Both home and car audio)

I'm just a person that likes to play with car stereos...nothing more.

Thanks for the responses. &gt Adam, if the 4PBR is the bottom line speaker cable that Kimber offers, then yes, it's probably the same. You're right about the interconnects making a bigger statement in the sound, but what to do if the longest part of the interconnect is going to be balanced? Build new balanced cable?

Still lost as to what to do with regards to the two cables. The AQ is a nice solid core copper, but the KK braided speaker cable is pretty much tried and true. But in a car audio environment, which is more important?

^^ Agree this is a personal preference question

1) You hear no difference
2) You prefer the AQ
3) You prefer the Kimber
4) You prefer one of the twos esthetics

As I said earlier they are similar quality, both will do well. You will be happy with either.

I run 4TC I seriously doubt there is much of a difference between it and other Kimbers... nice and not that pricey either... if you buy used anyway!

Cool, good replies guys. Defro, good suggestion. I'm going to avoid putting anything in the doors unless it's a midbass driver... for that I'll use something more flexible then.

Naturally the AQ is prettier (has a nice sheathing!) but I have a little longer run of the Kimber which will make running the wire less limiting.

Auditioning isn't going to be easy... haven't set up any amps yet. I just wanted to pull the carpet, run the cable and put everything back and leave it at that. Keep it simple. I figure if I run the cable externally, I won't be able to get an accurate sense of how well the shielding is as it may differ once I actually run it underneath the carpet.

*sigh* alright... let the games begin.
