06 pathfinder factory Bose system and DVD HELP

What I was thinking is ideally
The kids can watch a move from the old DVD player with headphones as volume and I can listen to music free from superhero movies
Or if I wanted to play a movie with sound there the whole car I would use the kenwood DVD player and it would play on both the old DVD player screen and the kenwood

What you may have to do is actually drop the screen from the roof and look near the power cord and see if the RCA's are there as they usually are not present on the screen or base that is mounted to the headliner. I'll bet there won't be but better dropping it and checking for sure.

If you run the video OUT and a set of RCAs from the Kenwood to the inputs on the front of the factory DVD then you will be able to do exactly what you want - the kids can watch the factory DVD with headphones or you can change the factory DVD to the front inputs and the overhead will show what the Kenwood is playing.
As for the factory Bose equipment - I always recommend relocating it all to the nearest available dumpster but if you insist on keeping it, there is likely a converter for it.

Thanks when you say you can change the factory DVD to the front inputs and the overhead will show what the Kenwood is playing. Does that mean I will have to unplug or plug something in each time?
Also what's wrong with Bose?? Lol

From the sounds of it, if the factory DVD is eliminated and you go directly to the overhead screen (if there is RCA inputs) what you see on the kenwood screen is what you see on the overhead screen. Your just taking the factory DVD out of the equation. I know how I explained it is a little confusing. The easiest thing for you to do is to do as Dukk said use the outputs from the kenwood deck and go directly into the inputs on your DVD player. Just remember the harnesses from the factory DVD player and overhead screen are more then likely plugged into the back of the factory deck. So you will need to power them up for them to operate.

Could it plug into the kenwood somehow to be powered?

Yes but your going to have to test the harnesses to see what is what, easiest thing to do is power up the whole system then start unplugging the harnessing from the rear of your factory deck one plug at a time and see what turns off, once you verify this then you need to see what wires are switched 12 volts and what is ground, that will be what is needed to power up the DVD player and the overhead screen. On the prvious page where it shows the picture of the rear of the factory deck there are 5 possible plugs on the deck, the 2 that are together furthest to the left should be the plugs for the factory deck if my mind serves me correctly. The smaller of the 2 will be the rear speakers and bose amplifier turn on lead, and the other is the front speakers and all the power/ground/illumination leads.
