3 piece component install with SQ in mind

I have a question, it may be stupid in nature, but that is the risk I am willing to take. What happened if you were to install a 4" midbass and tweeter up front (lets say in the doors) and you placed your 6.5" bass driver in the back of the car. Would that totally destroy the soundstage, or is there a chance that it could work?

Any advice is more than welcome.

are you talking about taking a 3 way set, with the 4" and the tweet up fron, and placing the midbass drivers in the rear? or are you talking about a 2 way set up front (4" and tweet) and adding a 6.5" in the rear?

You really want to keep your 6.5's up front, or it will ruin your soundstage. You could do 6.5's in the door and make kicks for your tweet and midrange driver.

Lightbulb

If you know what you are doing and are willing to invest the time in tuning, it can work very well. It's not a drop in solution though.
