Extra power is never a bad thing... as posted, just keep the gain a bit low...

To set up with a DMM you will need one with a true RMS reading and a test tone on CD.. 100hz should be OK... If the DMM is not true RMS the test tone will need to be at 60hz for an accurate measurement....

voltage squared divided by resistance gives power, so you'll be aiming for a voltage around 32 volts from the amp when the deck volume is at the maximum level you will normally have it at...

To setup otherwise look at the maximum preout voltage of the deck, and the input range of the amp, and adjust accordingly...



Of course for advanced users, there is more to it then that as levels should be matched according to loudness so the sub blends with the mids....
