'92 Civic SI hatch help

Hey all,
I'm trying to help a friend out who wants some bass in his car while still keeping it light. Like the title says its a '92 civic hatch and he wants to have some sort of driver in the rear panel, similar to what is pictured here -> with the speaker (preferably one but if need be then two) in the empty stock speaker area in the back.

At first I thought like an 8" woofer, but I'm wondering if that will fit (stock location is like a 6" area but more space can be made if needed) what your opinions are here. Something that can really improve SQ and is not TOO loud. Is it possible to dedicate say a 6" driver for low bass? Or is that only good for mid range bass?

And what do you all think of the ID8D2 V.3 by Image dynamics? I'm sure not sure what to look for when it comes to 8" woofers http://www./products_page.php?id=id&type=sub

And what do you think is better? To sound deaden it, or to build a small enclosure for the door?

What do you all see as the idea set up for this situation? Thanks in advance for any help!

That woofer look amazing and the price is even better. And yes, you have to deaden the doors with Dynamat Extreme or the likes.

yeah just stick some of that dynamat behind the door. That little subwoofer is amazing. Did you check out the excursion video. The one sub can handle 200watts rms. Gets quite loud and has amazing sound quality I heard. You ever hear of elemental designs before?. Tell me what you think when you have it installed. and post up some pics if you can. I know many brands of car audio. So if I could help anyone, just ask.
