CG, rarely can you just pull stock speakers and just pop in the aftermarket ones. I've not seen mounts on your year honda, but honda usually has some sort of plastic basket the stock speak sits in that usually needs some dremel work to get aftermarket speaks in.
In my car I pulled the stock mounting bracket and made a new one out of mdf.
Please don't kid yourself that this is a five minute job.

 

^^^True. Most factory speakers (Especially Japanese cars) have three hole mounting systems. At the very least you will have to drill new mounting holes. I (like fever) had to make MDF mounting rings for my last 2 cars - '97 Toyota Tercel and '97 Subaru Wagon. Secondly, you won't want to use the factory wires.
It isn't difficult work to do, but installing my components in my Subaru took about 7 hours to do - (Yeah I'm a rookie - but 2 hours was just trying to fish the wire through the wire housing between the door and the car body )
1.5 hours measuring, cutting and painting the MDF rings
1.5 hours running wires and mounting X-overs
1 hour in removing and re-installing door panels (I didn't have the proper tools, I could have saved at least 1/2 an hour here)
.5 hour clean up and systme check
.5 hour actually mounting mids and tweeters.

 

^And that didn't include deadening the doors (or did you forget to mention it?). There's a lot of work but its all good, except for that wire fishing part, that can really suck.

No deadening in the doors - looking to do that in the spring. $ is too tight now.

Not work, school. Eight more months until graduation. School is also why I don't have the $ to do the doors.
