adding a sub to a bose system

need some help ,im putting a loc into a 2008 gmc denali with the bose system, hooking up to the rear speaker wires gave me no signal, not sure why so then i tried the factory sub wires and i get signal but really bad its all scratchy and distorted, i also tried going in before the amp and get the same results as with the sub wires. any ideas?

you attach the LOC to the front or rear ouputs of the headunit, before the GM/bose/baby amp.

My guess is you have to hook up where it comes out of the amp, maybe the head unit doesn't have an internal amp so thats why yourt not getting any signal. Im no expert but try hooking it up where the speakers wires come out of the amp, hope that helps but again im no expert!!!!

could be a defective loc or the bose system is sending a pre-amp level output to the amp, in which case your loc won't work at the head unit because it's a low voltage signal, and/or the loc is not able to handle a higher voltage output from the bose amp, in which case it won't work there because the voltage is too high when turned up. I'd test the loc first to see if it's working properly, and check the specs to see if it's compatible, and measure the out voltage of the bose system at both locations, head out, and amp out. You may need a different brand/model of loc...something a little more sophisticated like a re-Q.

after looking at the hifonics mx4, the voltage shouldn't be an issue after the amp...it's rated for up to 40 volts...more than enough. Double check you wiring, and the unit itself.
