Advice on what to do to fix my audio system destoryed by a local install shop???
Right that is what I thought it was.
So had a friends brother install those Polks I got and the sound is much much much cleaner. It took a bit more listening to the new speakers to realize it still did not sound quite right with an extreme amount of mid range dropping out or just not present....... again....... and vocals where extremely dominant. My first sign of trouble was to my surprise very inaccurate cymbals.
I thought it sounded like my tweeters were doing all the work as I had clear sound on the top of my sound stage but when I put my ear near the tweeters I heard nothing. The woofer once again is doing all the work.
Having my friend ask where his brother installed the crossovers. I have a bad feeling his brother stole both my infinity crossovers and polk crossovers.
Looks like I will have to borrow tools from someone and do this my myself and risk breaking something important.

I highly doubt that he would steal your crossovers as they're worth almost nothing on their own. Out of curiosity check your crossover setting on your speaker amp. Make sure it's set to full or off. If it's set to 'low pass' that would explain a lot.
Well the pioneer amp thats now powering the speakers is either Low, All, or High for the crossover. It was set to All, and then I took it to High. For all its worth I would prob still spend less money going to Canada than taking it back to another installer lol...... unless your up waaaaay near Alaska, then yea too far...... and no passport lol.
He did have my crossovers, after much debate with him and a threat to call the cops he went...... wait oh yea there on my workbench. Took two days to get them but I have them back.
I will pull everything apart this weekend and wire it myself. It may not look cute and I may need to mount the crossovers in the cabin.... they are epically huge. but I don't care if it give me my sound again.

Finished to half success. Found a few connections reversed, no sound deadening (Which I paid for + labor). Hooked in the new crossovers and now I have tweeters. This speakers set is weird tho with the percussion on the tweeters and everything else on the mid. Not sure I like that too much and the tweeter still seems a bit hallow. Oh well still better than it was.
Took the car somewhere and now I have extremely bad engine noise getting into the right front speaker set........ prob the crossover accepting the noise but idk why now >.> what causes engine noise?
