All car speakers just died.

There was a pop and all the speakers just turned off now and there is no sound. The deck is an lcd screen dvd deck, and the deck still has power and will turn on and play video. But none of the speakers are making any sound now. THey were working fine the night before.

No amps, all powered off the deck..

Any suggestions?

without asking any more questions my first guess is a short in one of the speaker leads.....most likely behind the deck, assuming all the factory speakers and speaker wire were used.

my guess is that its not behind the deck but one of the speakers themselves. If you have aftermarket speakers in, then sometimes the leads will touch a part of the door frame or something like that and short out. The deck has a built in protection so that when one speaker goes they all go to keep the deck from frying itself.

most decks have fuses in them, but they arent user serviceable.

id guess that one of the guys above is correct, you had a short, perhaps a wire rubbed through the insulation, or a speaker terminal shifted (how?) or some other failure and the fuse is done.

email or call the dealer or manufacturer and see what they have to say about it.
