Alpine changer work on a Kenwood HU?
#1
So my old Alpine head unit & changer have made it back to me...
Can I make the old Alpine CHM-5611 changer work from my late-model Kenwood KDCX979, just by making an adapter cable?
If so, where can I find the info I need to make said cable?
Thanks!

Far out...
So I hooked up the old changer AND Alpine HU to the line input on my Kenwood HU.
Gave it some power and voila! The SQ coming out of that old changer, through the even older Alpine HU, then into the line input of my KW HU... is FAR better than the Kenwood's own built-in cd player!
The only downside is no cd text, can't even see what song's playing unless ya open the console and shine a flashlight at it (it's built in lights stopped working years ago). At least I can still navigate through the changer with my thumb without looking...
Very ghetto, but worked awesome...
