Question amp light?

hello everyone,
well this is the problem, my mother took the jeep the other day and came back and the subs weren't working so i went to take a look at the amp to see if any wires came loose and there all in there fine. When i turn my CD player on the long blue neon light comes on. (the top of the amp) but the red or green light isn't on the side of the amp. So what i did was i borrowed my cuzins amp just to see if the lights would come on on his amp, and they wouldn't. I know some stuff about hooking it up and all that but this has got me stumped i just cant figure it out because the blue neon is still on so doesn't that mean theres power going to it? any ideas? is the amp fried or just the battery low? please help.

if that blue light means the amp has power then it is turning on, but if the power light on your amp is actually the little green light and it doesnt come on then you dont have proper power, some amps have lights just for show, so is the green light actually the power light on your amp?

If so and it isnt coming on then the amp isnt actually turning on. Check that then let us know

What about the remote turn on? You said all the wires were plugged in, but maybe that one got cut? (what was she doing with the jeep? off roading?) or fell out at the back of the deck?

Use the multimeter's continuity to check if the wires good (if its plugged in)

with your deck turned on, select dc volts on your dmm, put the black lead on neg, and the red on rem. if you have 12v or so then you have power to the remote so thats fine, but i assume it will be cuz the blue neon comes on when you turn it on, check next the power wire for the same, then check the fuses in the amp itself. Hope this helps

Check the fuse on the power wire. That sucker may have popped.

ok.... there has been a serious lack of communication here.

First off ask mom what the heck she did so you can undo it.

second once she says 'I didn't do anything' then you have to troubleshoot what she didn't do (every damn time my wife sits in my car she spills a soda and pops out a tweeter)

are the blue, red, green lights part of your amp? or is the blue an add on? do they have the same power supply?

all in all I am throwing out a wild guess it is the remote turn on but from the info given I have no idea

Tell mom to stop turning it up and terrorizing the school yards

The remote wire (usually blue) could have a voltage ranging from 5v-14.4v (from ground) So if its something like that, its most likely not the remote turn on. Also check fuses as said above.

More details needed. (like is the amp and that blue light on the same power source?)
