anyone have/use the Jasper Jig?

am strongly debating the jasper jig. anybody out there have one? what do you think of it? accurate as they say it is? how does the screen printing on the face hold up?
seems pretty nice..."I need a 9 3/16 mounting hole". hmmm...looking up 9 3/16, use that peg and rip the hole!
any advice? I've got a good circle jig for my router now, but its a pain cause you do at least 2 or 3 test cuts to get the setting just right....PITA!!

If you need to do 2 or 3 trial cuts, then you don't have a good circle jig.
The Jasper unit is handy and if you make a lot of circles it's worth the cash. I don't make circles all that often so a homemade teardrop jig suits my purposes nicely and it was free

i agree...which is why I'm asking. the quality of the jig, its adjustability and usability are very good. just NO measurements...eg...I've got to try and line up the 1/4" straight bit with where I "think" it should be for the cut...sucks big time.
I do get into quite a lot of enclosures over the course of the season. I would use the router a LOT more if I had a more accurate way of doing it.
hey tim...where did you get it for $29?

^^^
www.partsexpress.com
But that was a few years ago, I know it was cheaper then it was on the Jasper site.

Tim forgets the shipping
I just bought one from parts express in the spring, came to $75 canadian shipped to my door.
It's incredibly accurate...
Lee Valley tools sells the smaller jasper jig...

^ What kind of router do you have? I'm wondering if it would fit the low-end Black and Decker that I have. It didn't list B&D on the Lee Valley link but I wonder if they have the same footprint as say the Sears models

Oh, and make sure you use an Upcut spiral bit for it, the jig is calibrated using a 1/4" bit.
