big deck to small deck?

big deck to small deck?

my friend wants me to install her cd playing in her new car. i have no problem doing that, but the one that is in her car is stalk. and its big. i need to know what i should do to fill the space? is there a kit i can buy to do it, or should i just go buy a piece of UHMW (or whatever matches her car)?

yea i would go with the metra double din kit with the pocket underneath, that way it covers the hole, and also makes it alot neater then tryin to cover it up yourself

where would i buy a metra double DIN kit?
would lordco or have it, i dont want to travel to far to get it lol. i would order one but i am going to need it asap.

if you go to any car audio shop or futureshop they should have a plastic adapter that will convert the big hole into a little hole and the kits are especially made for each vehicle. You will also need a wire harness so you can plug into the factory wiring without cutting and possibly an antenna adaptor because often the antenna plugs in cars aren't the right size to hook straight up to the deck so you need an adaptor for that too

what i did was i went to my buddy that works at our local car audio shop and got him to order it through them and it was here within a few days, it doesnt take long man but i guess it all depends on how soon you want it to. the site is www.metraonline.com

most kits and wiring are available thru canadian tire or walmart(cheaper). they both are close to you and will cost you less there than any shop. you could pick up the stuff you need tonight then.

i ended up getting the wire harness and the metra double dash kit for under $20. at canadian tire it would have been closer to 40
