hey... i know this may be a stupid question but if anyone knows the answer i know i will find it here.

my question is if i connect my amp to a very crappy sub simply to make the sub pop. (hopefully shoot the cone right out) would that damage my amp in any way.... like the amp can give out much more then the speaker can handle. will one simple burp (to blow the sub) damage the amp?

If the amp has a (working) protection circuit, it should be fine. Otherwise I wouldn't risk the coil shorting and turning your amp into a rather large paperweight.
