i'm trying to install a new deck on my 1999 z24. But i can't take out the dash trim which is black in color. I found there is a hidden hex screw on top which lies inside the dash trim. and on top of the dash trim there is the dashboard which i don't know how to take out. and there's the airbag attached to the dashboard too, i don't kno if i can screw around with the airbag. so my question for all ur experts is that do i have to take both the trim and dashboard off ? or if i can somehow unscrew that hex screw.? or there is another way of taking the dash trim out???

To get the deck out of the 95+ Cavalier you have to take the dash pad off. This might seem harder than it is but it is very easy.

First take out the phillips screw that holds the grill over the vent on top of the dash and remove. Under there you will find 2 7mm screws.

Next on either side of the dash where your fuse box will be gently pop the trim piece off to find another 7mm on each side.

Insdie the glove box you will find 4 more 7mm. 2 of them are far back and are gold in color and hold a metal bare that hold the air bag cover down. the other 2 are along the lip the holds the dash pad to the dash.

After all the screws are out you can lift the dash pad off and have access to the last 3 7mm that hold the black bezel around the radio and heater controls on.
