Well you shouldn't be having any issues assuming all connections are correct. Have you double checked to make sure everything is connected properly?

No, I don't think so. I could see a lack of definition and bass response if it was factory amplified. Bypassing the factory amp allows the deck full control and it sounds much better. It doesn't sound like the system is factory amped, so I would suspect maybe a poor ground at this point. Without hearing what's going on I'm not sure if I can help much further....

Ya I am pretty picky when it comes to sound. My old pioneer deck sounded awesome but one day it just shut off on me thats why I took the gf's alpine deck she didnt want. I did notice a drastic change in sound from the two, but maybe I will wait for the summer to come and get a new deck and door speakers with an amp to run them, any good places to get a truck box for a 10'' sub. I made one quickly but doesnt have correct air space and I think thats why my sub sounds like garbage right now.

I'd check and make sure that any DSP or EQ settings in general are set properly. I'm not familiar with that model Alpine to be honest (I could J.F.G.I I suppose) but if it has Time Alignment or other features that have been played with it could just be a matter of resetting the deck to factory settings and adjusting from there?

the apline deck will NOT work on a factory system without some modifications.
If your truck has a factory amp, you might need a LOC to feed the inputs on the amp.
If it doesn't have an amp, it probably has 2 ohm speakers, and that will make the alpine sound like siht and burn it out, hopefully blow a fuse.
There are adaptors made for just about every type of factory integration. Get the right one and its easy.
I used the Soundgate Lanstar, but i removed factory amp and replaced all speakers.
