Cool Civic 2004 coupe - rear deck speakers don't fit

Hi everybody!

I am a honda civic 2004 owner....................coupe

I also own 2 6x9 speakers: infinity reference 9612i.

Guess what ?

The speakers don't fit.

Why?

Because, when I place them in the hole, the rod spring thingys that make the trunk open are in the way of the HUGE magnets in the back of these bastards.
So my question to you people is:

How?

How do I fit them without screwing thigs up too much?

Thanks to all usefull replies!

Figure since no one else will reply I the newb will lol
Make spacers out of 3/4"mdf, use screws to attach to opening, then seal edges with clay or similar. More then likely you will still have clearance between the speaker and the rear deck cover with speaker grills.

Thanks you late night forum dwelling dudes for repying! I was afraid I was gonna have to do that! Do you think half inch plywood will do, or is MDF irreplacable.

measure what distance you need. Then add 1/4 inch so 3/4 mdf will do well

everyone loves mdf, if youre worried about having to go buy some, take a look at your local home depot by the saw they usually have scraps from when someone gets a 4x8 cut down, they will sell them for cheap or give them away
