Component help
#1
I'm having some major problems here and I'm getting way too frustrated to figure it out. I previous had a 2 x 150 kenwood amp running my components (Mobile Performance 5.25 sold my perfect tones). It seemed like the tweeters were getting too much power and the drivers were barely noticeable. I thoought it was the amp. Whatever, I got a used xtant 2140c amp, hooked everything up and now it's even worse. You can hear most of the sound through the tweeters and BARELY anything out of the drivers. WTF is going on?
I appear to have everything hooked up but it's just not working properly. Tweeters are hooked up to the crossover, the line in from the amps is hooked up to the crossover and the drivers are hooked up to the crossover. I have them hooked up to an older mb quart crossover, but that can't be the problem becasue I switched crossovers from the crunch ones when I was using the Kenwood amp and it made no differece.
I need some help, I'm getting SERIOUSLY frustrated and I wanna break something lol.

Did the component set come with xover's for them specifically? You might have the tweet wired to where the mid should be and the mid where the tweet should be. It seems like the xover is distributing more of the power to the tweet then to the mid. Try connecting the mid to where the tweet is and see if it makes a difference

Quite often if a shop picks and chooses random drivers for a 'custom component set' it can lead to sensitivity problems. Compound it with a generic catalog xover and you can get all sorts of weird things.
Not saying that is the case here but it happens more often than not when people piece together stuff.
