confused! how to install a powered sub with 2 2 channel amps

I just went out and bought a cheap 8" sub that is in an enclosure with a built in amp.
the question is, how do I put this in my blaupunkt system?
it is recommended that I use rca inputs.
can I use a loop through connection from on of my velocity amps?
my deck doesn't have a sub pre-out. my amps have low and high bypass options.
If I use one of the bypass options does that mean the loop through is filtered or would it be full frequency?
the sub manual only tells me how to install from the rca from the deck, not additional amps.
it is exactly the same as this crutchfield (specs and all) but made by dual

Blaupunkt lists the RCA outputs on the Velocity amps as "Loop through" so you should be able to use that as your RCA input for this self-powered box without worries.
If they do turn out to be filtered you could put a good quality high-low level converter on your speaker outputs to get an RCA(low) level input for the enclosure.

thanks very much!
the sub has a built in crossover and I found out from old blaupunkt literature that the high and low active crossovers are "continually variable crossover rate".
which would be the better way of doing the crossover,,,, put the hz higher on the sub and let the blaupunkt amp do the work, or put the hz higher on the amp and let the sub do the crossover?

thanks again

randy

Can you disable either of the x-overs?? If so, use only whichever has the sharper slope (i.e. 24db/oct vs. 12). If not, in theory the sub will only see the lowest filter setting anyway so it shouldn't matter.
(if the 1st filter is set lower the 2nd filter will be invisible (already filtered at that freq.). If the 2nd filter is set lower, the first filter just won't be doing anything productive.
