Mounting a sub under my seat

I'm trying to figure out where to mount an 8" sub in my car and I'm leaning towards mounting it under my seat. It's a 91 Mazda Protege and I'd like to keep it out of the trunk if possible but if under the seat isn't going to work, the trunk is my last option. I'm not after huge bass, I had two 12's when I was younger just something that is going to deliver solid sound.

Have you looked under the seat. Most cars barely have enough room for an amp let alone a speakerbox.

Check the passenger foot well, you may be able to install a sub with a small enclosure requirement and not lose too much leg room. Another alternative maybe tuck up under the dash??
