Digital input?
#1
I am hooking up a dvd player to my sound system and my eclipse 8454 has an analog in(headphone minijack) and a digital in (single female rca end). I am wondering if I would have any problems using a y adapter to input the audio into the digital in or if i should just use a y adapter to minijack connection.

^ You can use a regular RCA cable.
Scarlemthug - if the audio out of the DVD is an Orange RCA then it may work with your digital input. If you just have standard Red and White then you need the adaptor to miniphono unless the deck has a direct analog RCA in.

the dvd player outputs are the yellow, white and red rca connectors.
So i use the yellow for video and then the input on my deck for audio i have a choice of using a headphone miniplug which is the analog in or what looks like a single female RCA connector which is lablelled digital input.
I hooked it up right now using a dual female rca to single headphone minijack plug and it sounds like crap and is only giving me sound on my drivers side.
I didnt look too much at the miniplug but i remember only seeing a single black divider thing on the actual plug part, could this be why im only getting sound on 1 side? Also im not getting any midbass sound and the sound is very distorted and doesnt seem like the deck and passive crossovers are doing anything to seperate the signal.
